ComedySportz/National Comedy Theatre is available for rentals for theatrical productions, film shoots, casting, classes, corporate meetings and parties.

We've hosted Christopher Guest's film For Your Consideration. We've hosted ABC Television's The Bachelor. We've hosted classes for Walt Disney. We've hosted many showcases and many theatre productions, including LA's longest-running hit show, ComedySportz. Why not you?

Our theatre is a jewel-box of a theatre, unlike most you will find in Los Angeles. It is a beautiful, well-maintained art deco building with a rich history as the Melrose Theatre, the HBO Workspace and ComedySportz. Our patio and studio theatre offer multiple spaces that are perfect for the additional needs of film/tv shoots. The seating is intimate and comfortable.

Location

Our theatre is located at 733 Seward Street in Hollywood, 1/2 block north of Melrose and 5 blocks east of Highland in the Hollywood Media District. We are tucked away on a quiet street that is home to the film industry--studios, sound engineers, special effects labs, film vaults. At night, free street parking is ample.

Facility

We have two theatre spaces:

Mainstage Theatre seats approximately 85 people in a combination of fixed and flexible seating.

The Ball Room, our studio theatre, seats 30 and is ideal for classes.

 

We also have a spacious patio and lobby, both of which can be used for meetings, celebrations and catering.

• Mainstage Theatre is fully equipped with lighting and sound, video monitors, dvd-vhs player, follow spot,  hook-up for projection equipment or computer.
• Heat and air-conditioning.
• Two dressing rooms.
• Handicapped accessibility.
• Ample street parking at night.
• Large outdoor patio for catering, craft services or parties, or for use as a holding area for extras or casting sessions.
• Heat lamps and umbrellas on the patio.
• Box office, concession and catering services are available.
• House staff and technical staff are available.
• Bicycle security patrol in the evening.

Rates and Availability
